We help clients set performance metrics and targets that measure the health of the entity and impact of its operations on stakeholders. These measures are then used as part of the learning process to bring about continuous improvements.
About 1.5 million nonprofits in the social sector in the USA account for over $1 trillion in economic activity and grew faster than the overall economy in the past fifteen years. An unprecedented amount of wealth is flowing to charitable organizations from the private sector foundations, corporations and individual donors. Yet social capital markets are far from perfect and in many cases are quite dysfunctional. Nonprofits are not always rewarded based on their results and commonly available metrics that focus on activities rather than results, or limited financial cost ratios such as “overhead costs” can actually cause nonprofits to focus wrongly on efficiencies only and not on the effectiveness of their programs. Like the government, nonprofits are facing the dilemma of meeting an exponential increase in demand for services with declining revenues and strained capacity. Thus there is an increasingly urgent need to be clear about and measure end results in order to allocate scarce resources to create the greatest impact.
GlobalSource helps leaders develop and implement appropriate measures of desired results to manage for social impact.
